The PAL program is for where a group of citizens lead the stewardship of a particular park or public space. The group is self-directed and decides when and how often they will meet and what their goals are for their area. This group is supported by the City of Colwood and the Friends of Colwood parks in a few ways. First, they receive access to the common tools provided and maintained by FCP. Second, the group can call upon other volunteers to provide additional resources at key times. For example, a group may want extra people and equipment when Scotch Broom is in full bloom. By sharing resources (tools and equipment) we can have many PAL groups operating concurrently throughout the City of Colwood multiplying our efforts and results. Every PAL group needs a designated leader who will communicate with the city, with the FCP and will provide short reports and data on the activities of their group.
